Longest Prize Fight

On April 6, 1893, in the hot, humid climate of New Orleans, Jack Burke and Andy Bowen engaged in the Lightweight Championship of the South prize fight. After battling for 110 rounds over seven hours and 19 minutes, the fight ended in a draw. Since neither man could continue, all they received were totally drained and equally bruised and bloodied bodies.
